What are the fundraising efforts? |
|
Construction of the center will depend on the fund-raising activities of the CRCC Inc. We will be raising approximately $7 million for construction and $3 million for operations support. Support from community groups, including Kiwanis, Greater Crofton Council, Rotary, and the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce have helped this foundation get started. The CRCC Inc. will work with other organizations, local businesses, schools, and interested citizens to achieve our goal. In addition, we’ll be seeking federal, state, and county grants. If we don’t meet our fundraising and construction timelines, we’ll continue with our fundraising until our goals are met. Any interest earned onCRCC monies will be used for scholarship awards. |

What programs will be offered? |
The CRCC will offer an array of programs for all ages, including basketball, wrestling, martial arts, dance, music, and crafts. The CRCC Program Development Committee, chaired by Tim Johnson, is working on these and other sports, arts, and education programs. Collaborating with the Department of Aging, Y of Central Maryland, and other support program organizations, the CRCC will help to ensure a complete program schedule to maximize local citizen needs. |

Leadership of the CRCC includes private citizens of the greater Crofton area, community leaders, elected officials, and business leaders. CRCC members are helping tospread the word about the CRCC’s efforts. Numerous volunteers are working to support the CRCC’s goal of providing access to community activities to the youth and adults of the greater Crofton region. |

We are always looking for people who are willing to help in our fundraising, community outreach, community center design, and program development committees. Designs for the skatepark are already underway by the CRCC Skatepark Development Committee chaired by Eric Tedrow.
