Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is the Crofton Regional Community Center, Inc. (CRCC)?
The CRCC Inc. is a private, not-for-profit corporation established to raise funds for the construction and operation of a community center in the Crofton area. This center will serve residents of the greater Crofton area by providing class rooms, meeting rooms, after school activities, and other services.
Where and when will the CRCC be built?
The CRCC will be built on land leased from Anne Arundel County. This property is located in Crofton on Reidel Road between the Crofton Public Library and the Crofton Cares facility. The CRCC, Inc. recently signed a 20-year lease with the County Executive, subject to the approval of the Anne Arundle County Council. We anticipate approval by the Council by the end of August, 2009.
Construction of the center will depend on the fund raising activities of the CRCC Inc. We will be raising approximately $7 million for construction and $3 million for operations support. Support from community groups, including Kiwanis, Rotary and the Greater Crofton Chamber of Commerce have helped this foundation get started. The CRCC Inc will work with other organizations, local businesses and schools, and interested citizens to achieve our goal.
Based on our projections, we anticipate start of construction will take place sometime in 2010 with a grand opening planned for 2011. Your help will keep us on this timeline and help this community effort succeed.

Two other groups of involved community businesses and individuals make up the CRCC team – Friends of CRCC and CRCC Volunteers.
Friends of CRCC is comprised of the business and community organizations that help to provide support, advice and expertise. Business and community leaders may join the Friends of CRCC and offer support and advice to the CRCC board of directors.
CRCC Volunteers are interested and committed citizens from the Crofton area who share the board’s goal of providing access to community activities to the children, youth, and adults of the Crofton region. If you’d like to join in our efforts to develop the Crofton Regional Community Center and help meet the community’s needs, please contact the CRCC Inc.
How can I get involved?
We are always looking for people who are willing to help and have skills to offer in our fundraising, community outreach, and design and development efforts. Please contact any one of the Executive Committee members listed above.
