The Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC) is excitedly working on the 2nd Annual Sweethearts Ball at the Blue Dolphin's Banquet Room, taking place on Feb. 18.
Everyone's concentration is on making this even bigger and better than before. Of course, most people know that last years plans had a big detour when all power was off due to a raging fire nearby. Hard to have hot food and lighting with no power. But everyone rolled up their sleeves and still made this a wonderful night. Just think how nicer it will be this year with full electricity! Let me give you a few examples.
The menu includes hors d'oeuvres, beef and ham carving stations, seafood newberg with rice, a vegetable lasagna, chicken marsala, vegetables, salad, and desserts of chocolate mouse cake and strawberry shortcake. Beer, wine and soda are included in the ticket price of $150 a couple ($100 a person), plus a bottle of champagne is included on each table.
This is a dressy affair with a silent and regular auction included, photos taken, music and dancing, plus some entertainment and surprises for all. Tickets are being sold online (www.croftonregionalcommunitycenter.net) through PayPal as well as at Minuteman Press, Hair Experience, Impressive! Promotional Products and at Robert Andrew. All CRCC members have tickets to sell as well.
Help is always needed for a big event such as this. If you can volunteer your time to assist in setting up and taking dawn, or helping throughout the evening with various tasks, please call John Hollywood at 301-261-3515.
Auction items are still being sought and John Hollywood is the man to call about this also. If you'd like to take out an ad in the evening's program - again, talk to John. More information on this can be found on our website at www.croftonregionalcommunitycenter.net and on our facebook at www.facebook.com/theCRCC. Remember that any donation can be used as a tax write-off as we are a non-profit organization.
