Press Release for Feb. 21, 2012

After so many months of planning and hard work, the Crofton Regional Community Center (CRCC) held their long anticipated Sweetheart's Ball last Saturday night. This time there were no unusual circumstances to prevent everything from running smoothly and it all went off without a hitch.

A recap of the evening shows that the crowd came prepared for a good time and got it. The CRCC added some funds to their treasury and now will take a short rest before concentrating on their next venture.

The CRCC wants to thank all those who helped make this a big success and all those who attended. Just to name a few, special thanks go to Kim Nelson, Deniz Cribbs, Marilyn Hendley, Maureen Serio, Joe and Pat Doyle, the Crofton Country Club, Gary and Janet Greenip, Frank and Irene Bedard, Susan Schertzer, Katie Harmke, Sherene Collins at Hair Experience, Bob Zupko at Robert Andrew Salon and Spa, Barbara Morsberger at Minuteman Press, Bob Duckworth, Sen. Ed Reilly, Jerry Walker, Beauregard's Photography, Cheryl and Mark Hokinson at Impressive Products, Chesapeake Sports Cards, Natalie Holmes, Essex Bank, Michelle Corkadel, and Brian McCann of the Blue Dolphin Restaurant. Brian made sure we all enjoyed the wonderful food he provided and were having a good time.

We also want to thank for their donations and help, Armadillo's Bar & Grill, McGarvey's Saloon & Oyster Bar, Buddy's Crabs & Ribs, Four Seasons Grille, Annapolis Ice Cream Co., Mills Fine Wine & Spirits, Spice & Tea Exchange, Fitness by Brian Johnson, Capital Comics, Bob Hartman, of Liberty Tax Return, Robert M. Daly, DDS, of Waugh Chapel Dental, Peepers Family Eye Care, Clay Makers, Ted & Beth Levitt of Scotlaur Inn Bed & Breakfast, John V. DeMaio, D.C., of DeMaio Chiropractic, as well as Kimberly Trudo for her massage donation from DeMaio Chiropractic, Michael Malone for the gift card to Carrabbas Restaurant, Olivia Hokinson, and Staples Corner Liquors.

A special comment goes to John and Joanne Hollywood who did the hard work and organization of this special evening and hats off to John for his clever role of auctioneer. He kept the evening entertained and lively. We enjoyed the long-stemmed roses and champagne.

We all enjoyed Disk Jockey, Tre Williams for his music and announcements.

We all remembered last year when the nearby out-of-control fires caused us to have no electricity and compare that to this event. We all agreed that although both events were special, we much preferred this time.

Please note - I have accumulated hundreds of books, new and old, autographed and not, fiction and non-fiction, plus some miscellaneous items and CD's as well. I am offering them up free to anyone who would like to come by and select what they want from my garage although I am asking you to please make a donation to the CRCC before you leave. The donation can be big or small - whatever you choose. Take as many books as you want. Please help me give these books a happy home and help the CRCC at the same time. My email and phone numbers are 410-793-3896 and This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. . If I'm home, you're welcome to look through the books. This offer will stand for the next couple of weeks before they are donated to charity.

And one more important announcement: KD Consignment shop on Route 450, in back of Rita's and near the bowling alley, will be donating 10% of their proceeds to the CRCC on March 1. Please mark that date on your calendars and pay them a visit.
